Manchester United have lost all hopes of midfielder Paul Pogba signing a new contract this summer, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils have already found an ideal replacement for Pogba.
There has been non stop speculation about Pogba’s future at Old Trafford for several years now.
His agent Mino Raiola’s comments about leaving Manchester United has not helped anybody.
The agent previously said that Pogba is unhappy at United and wants to join Real Madrid.
At the time, Pogba was yet to find his spot in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI.
Solskjaer later found a way to bring the best out of Pogba and return him to the line up.
Pogba started the new year 2021 with some good performances which included winning goals against Burnley and Fulham.
He was also named United’s Player of the Month for January.
However, United are resigned to losing Pogba.
According to The Sun, United have placed a £100m price tag on Pogba for all clubs interested.
The massive price tag is already putting off potential suitors, given the player could be available for free in 2022.
United Coach Solskjaer still wants somebody to replace Pogba in the team should he be sold this summer.
MySportDab understands that Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde is top of his wishlist.
Red Devils scouts have been monitoring the Uruguay midfielder over the years.
But Valverde is not available for cheap because of his shocking £148m buyout clause at Real Madrid.
In La Liga, it is now common for players to have release clauses inserted in their club contracts.
Manchester United would certainly refuse to meet the £148m price to sign Valverde.
