Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has said that they are not in this season Premier League Title Race, MySportDab reports.
The Reds suffered another shocking home defeat on Wednesday against Brighton at Anfield.
This marked the first time Liverpool have lost two consecutive home Premier League matches since September 2012.
The second half goal for Brighton by Steven leaves Liverpool seven points behind Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s team continued their winning run with another win against Burnley.
Ahead of the Liverpool match against City on Sunday at Anfield, Robertson said: ‘Any Liverpool and Manchester City game is a big one.
‘As of right now, we ain’t in the title race. We are seven good points lacking behind and they have another game in hand.
‘I’m sure they had feel the same if they were maybe 10 points behind. We need to return back to our very best.
‘We’re a good team. We can’t just be a bad team once in a while.’
Andy Robertson also praised Graham Potter’s Brighton team, who allowed Liverpool to have only one shot on target.
Robertson said: ‘Brighton played very well. We were disappointed all over the park. The team deserves the credit for playing well. They absolutely did everything we wanted to do.
‘We failed to do anything much. With a long unbeaten run and now we’ve lost two. When you don’t fail to show up you can’t get the results.
‘We plan for every match differently. It’s not only clicking. We must our way of getting results, especially at home again.’
