Steven Berghuis and Luuk de Jong both scored as Netherlands beat Latvia 2-0 in their World Cup Qualifiers second match, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It wasn’t a bad first half encounter in which the home side dominated and managed to score a goal.
Latvia had things under control as the game progressed in the early stages which saw them defending very well and they made sure nothing went past them.
Netherlands was able to break the deadlock in the 32nd minute after an amazing goal from Steven Berghuis which made it 1-0.
The first half progressed without anything coming from the two sides as it ended with Netherlands 1-0 Latvia as they both headed for the break with a goalless draw.
Second Half Report
It wasn’t a bad second half of the encounter which saw the home side again finding the back of the net as the game progressed.
Luuk de Jong extended the lead in the 69th minute after scoring an amazing goal which made it 1-0 for Netherlands as they continue to dominate the game.
Latvia were second best as they couldn’t make a comeback despite all their efforts going forward which their few chances couldn’t hit the back of the net.
The game carried on without a goal as it ended with Netherlands 2-0 Latvia which saw the home side claimed three points in their World Cup qualifiers.
