Diogo Jota scored a brace as Portugal drew Serbia 2-2 in their second game for the World Cup qualifiers 2022 with Mitrovic on target, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was an amazing first half encounter between the two sides who created chances but the away team had the better of the 45 minutes.
Portugal opened the goal scoring in the 11th minute following a nice buildup play which saw Bernardo Silva assisting Diogo Jota who scored to make it 1-0 in the match.
Serbia couldn’t get a grip of the game as the pressure kept on pouring in until Jota grabbed his brace in the 36th minute to make it 2-0.
The game progressed without any goal action as the first half ended with Serbia 0-2 Portugal as they both headed for the break with advantage to the Portuguese.
Second Half Report
The second half started strongly in the early minutes as the home side came out stronger while they push forward more.
Serbia pulled one goal back in the 46th minute thanks to a goal from Mitrovic who was assisted by Radonjic to make it 2-1 as the game progressed.
Portugal was wrecking in holding off their opponent who didn’t stand a chance against them in the first 45 minutes.
Filip Kostic scored in the 60th minutes to level things to 2-2 against their opponent after another error from the away side which leads to the equalizer.
Late drama occurred which was a result of Nikola Milenkovic sending off after being shown a straight red card and also a clear Ronaldo goal was denied.
The match finally came to an end with Serbia 2-2 Portugal which saw both teams settling for one point each in the encounter.
