Spanish Police have now arrested former Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu at his home today in Spain, MySportDab reports.
Bartomeu was arrested for his involvement in the ‘Barcagate’ campaign scandal during his reign as the club’s president.
Bartomeu is not the only person to be arrest.
A total of four people have been arrested so far, which are; Barcelona’s CEO Oscar Grau and Barcelona head of legal services Roman Gomez Ponti, and two others.
The last person is, Jaume Masferrer who was an adviser to Bartomeu.
Earlier today, Spanish police entered Barcelona’s stadium in a shocking search operation.
Bartomeu and his directors resigned in 2020 after his fallout with club Legend Lionel Messi.
The club has been affected by political crisis and financial debt caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
