France Coach Didier Deschamps has provided a new update about Manchester United forward Anthony Martial’s injury, MySportDab reports.
Martial went off in the 59th minute of France’s 2-0 World Cup Qualifier match against Kazakhstan on Sunday with an injury.
He looked likely to play no part in France’s next qualifier match against Bosnia-Herzegovina tonight.
There were also fears that he could miss Manchester United’s Premier league match against Brighton.
However, France Coach Deschamps has revealed that the injury is nothing serious and that he could play for France today.
‘Anthony has a small knee issue. Nothing has been decided about if he would play in today’s match against Bosnia-Herzegovina,’ Deschamps said.
‘He won’t be part of the training session later. We’ll see tomorrow.
‘We’ve already done some tests on his knee, but he’s still feeling the pain, and traveling around has not helped.’
Martial started France’s match on Sunday and provided the crucial assist for Ousmane Dembele’s goal in the 19th minute.
The United Striker almost scored in the 43rd minute when he tried to hit a cross by Thomas Lemar, but the goalkeeper Serhiy Malyi made a great save.
Martial was treated for a knee problem after getting his studs caught and was replaced by Kylian Mbappe.
However, Deschamps’s new update will give Manchester United some hope that he can play in their Premier League match against Brighton.
Martial has not played as expected for United this season so far, despite his career-best 23 goals scored last season.
