Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane has hinted at a potential return for Cristiano Ronaldo to the club, MySportDab reports.
Ronaldo was heavily criticised last week after being at fault for the goal which kicked Juventus out of the Champions League.
Juventus director said after the match that a new contract for Ronaldo was ‘not part of the plans’.
That has led to rumours that the Portugal forward could leave Juventus before the end of his contract in 2022.
Asked about the Spanish reports linking Real with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane told Sky: ‘Yes, may be.
‘We know him, we know Cristiano for who he is and everything he did here. But he’s now a Juventus player and we have to respect that.
‘let’s see what happens in the future. I was lucky to coach him and he is good. Right now, he’s at Juventus.’
Reports of Ronaldo returning to Real Madrid continued after his hat-trick in Juve’s win over Cagliari on Sunday.
According to Spanish Newspaper Marca, Real Madrid are still focusing on signing Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland this summer.
They used the headline ‘Follow the Plan’, which meant that Ronaldo is not the main focus.
Real Madrid are also focused on plans to balance the books and offload some player with massive wages like Gareth Bale.
