The Bundesliga club want to sign him on a free transfer his contract finally expires at Tottenham next year if he fails to sign a new deal.
Son made his football European stage debut while playing in Germany, and scored 49 goals in all competitions for Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen before he joined Tottenham in 2015.
The 28-year-old has only two years left on his current contract and Jose Mourinho was not disturbed about the contract situation.
Mourinho said: ‘Son has a contract with us for a few more years so it is not a problem.
‘I think with the current situation with the world and the covid problem, it is the right now that clubs and players should discuss contracts while others are losing their jobs.
‘I believe that when everyone returns to normal, the club and Son will reach a conclusion.’
However, Tottenham have already crashed out of the FA Cup, Premier League title race, and the Europa League.
At Tottenham, Son has scored 103 goals in 270 matches since he joined the club six seasons ago.
