Chelsea have now joined the race to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, MySportDab reports.
The Frenchman has very little time left on his Real Madrid contract which would expire in June 2022.
However, Los Blancos could decide to sell the defender at the end of the season if he still refuses to sign a new contract.
Varane has been a vital part of Zinedine Zidane’s team having started most of Los Blancos’ LaLiga and Champions League games this season.
But, According to Spanish Newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, Varane is not convinced about staying at Real Madrid and Chelsea are ready to pay the £61m fee.
Real need to raise money to fund plans to sign PSG Star Kylian Mbappe.
Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, 28, is also expected to arrive at Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United are also said to be interested in Varane this summer.
Varane can improve the Chelsea defence should they decide to pay the fee this summer.
Chelsea face Varane’s Real Madrid up next in the Champions League semi-final first leg this week.
Zidane’s side host Chelsea on Tuesday night before travelling to Stamford Bridge on May 5 for the 2nd leg.
