Two goals from Lionel Messi and one from Ronald Araujo with Griezmann ensured Barcelona thrashed Getafe 5-2 to put pressure on League leader, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was an exceptional first half of the encounter in which four goals were scored with both sides finding the back of the net.
Barcelona opened the goal scoring in the 8th minute’s thanks to a lovely finishing from Lionel Messi made things 1-0.
Getafe pulled back level in the 12th minute after an error forced Clement Lenglet to put the ball in the back of his own net to make it 1-1.
The away side also saw Sofian Chakla scoring an own goal which gave the home team the lead 2-1 as the game progressed in the 28th minute.
Lionel Messi made it his brace in the 33rd minute of the game with a clinical finish which made things increased to 3-1 as they continue to dominate.
The first half of the encounter came to an end with Barcelona 3-1 Getafe as they both headed for the break with an advantage to the home side.
Second Half Report
The second half started slowly as the pace went down far less than we saw in the first 45 minutes of the game which four goals were scored.
Getafe stood tall in the early minutes of the second 45 minutes as they were able to easily deal with everything the home team threw at them.
Barcelona controlled things until they gave away a penalty in the 69th minute which Enes Unal stepped up and converted to make it 3-2.
The game progressed with more opportunities as Ronald Araujo scored another goal to make it 4-2 for Barca who were the better side.
Griezmann made it 5-3 in the 90+ minutes after converting from the penalty spot to increase the lead for his side who were ruthless.
The match finally ended with Barcelona 5-2 Getafe as Ronald Koeman’s side claimed a massive win and three points to remain 3rd on the table.
