Manchester United have now offered midfielder Bruno Fernandes a new contract worth a massive £200,000 a week. MySportDab reports.
Fernandes’ agent Miguel Pinto arrived in Manchester this week to negotiate the terms of the new contract for the Portuguese that would double his wages.
Fernandes has stormed the Premier League since he joined Manchester United in January 2020.
The 26-year-old is a key part of Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team this season.
Fernandes has scored 28 goals and provided 17 assists across competitions this season.
Despite still having four years left on his current contract, United want to reward his performances at the club.
According to The Mirror, Manchester United want to seal the new contract with Fernandes before the start of Euro 2020.
However, United won’t accept to include a buy-out clause in Fernandes’ new contract being offered.
Bruno Fernandes has previously said that he is happy with the progress United under Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United have already secured a second place finish in the Premier League and are in the Europa League final.
‘My goal is to win trophies,’ Fernandes said.
‘I think we have improved significantly since I arrived here.
‘We are currently in a growth phase and the players are getting the mentality that you should have in a club like Manchester United, to win titles and trophies.
‘That’s why am here. I feel being part of that and I’m here to help the club grow.’
