Manchester United have plans to sign Atletico Madrid’s No.1 goalkeeper, Jan Oblak, in the summer transfer window, MySportDab reports.

Oblak is currently one of the best ‘goalkeepers in the world’ and could solve the question about who is Manchester United’s first choice Goalkeeper.

According to The Sun, Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is open to offering David de Gea in a player plus cash deal to drive down Oblak’s £70m release clause.

Solskjaer has an unresolved decision about who to start in goal for the last few months during the 2020-21 season.

The Norwegian has given both goalkeepers the opportunity to impress themselves as his first-choice, and they have both failed to impress

Therefore, the United manager could look to the summer transfer window to access his options between for the Goalkeeper role for next season.

Solskjaer signing a new Goalkeeper would depend largely on th funds Manchester United provide available for transfers this summer.

Having won the LaLiga title with Atletico Madrid, Oblak is now a priority signing for Solskjaer this summer.

However, the 28-year-old could cost United around £70m for Atletico Madrid to sell.

So, United are working on plans to reduce Atletico’s asking price.

MySportDab understands that Solskjaer will include De Gea as part of a package deal for Jan Oblak.

Manchester United have also signed veteran keeper Tom Heaton this summer on a free transfer but he is 35-year-old.
