Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has confirmed his plans for this summer transfer window, MySportDab reports.
Kounde is ready to leave Sevilla this summer to win major trophies at a top club.
The 22-year-old is one of the most highly rated young centre-backs in Europe thanks to his impressive season under Julen Lopetegui.
Real Madrid and Manchester United are the two main clubs interested in the Frenchman, who was included in Didier Deschamps’ squad for Euro 2020 this summer.
However, Speaking at a France press conference, Kounde insisted that he has not made a final decision on his future.
‘I may change clubs this summer. Nothing has been decided,’ Kounde said.
‘My goal is to evolve into a great club to progress, and win many trophies. To start every the season by telling yourself that the goal is win this trophy. I might have to leave, but that’s not important for now.’
Kounde’s market valus has risen this season having played 49 matches for a club that finished in the Champions League slot and only two points behind Barcelona in La Liga.
Only Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid conceded fewer league goals than Sevilla during the 2020-21 season.
When asked if he had noticed when he was becoming a top player, Kounde added: ‘I think when I arrived at Sevilla and started playing more and more, and also in the Champions League.
‘It has always been in my head. I have always believed it, I have always worked to have it.
‘That objective meant that I was display such performances as I did at Sevilla. thanks to the club that helped me and my team-mates.’
Real Madrid were ready to add Kounde to their squad due to the uncertain futures of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos.
Los Blancos only yesterday confirmed the signing of David Alaba but want a partner at the back for the Austrian.
Man United are also monitoring Kounde, with plans of playing him alongside Harry Maguire next season, but his £68m release clause is a problem.
