Manchester United Legendary Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has confirmed that he is interested in a return to Old Trafford, MySportDab reports.
But, nobody from Manchester have reached out to him about replacing vice-chairman Ed Woodward
Van der Sar was linked with a return to the Red Devils before the appointment of John Murtough and Darren Fletcher as United’s football director and technical director.
However, Since Ed Woodward would leave in 2021, Van der Sar has now revealed his interest in the role.
He who won the Champions League and four Premier League titles at Manchester United during his football career.
Speaking about the Manchester United rumours, Van der Sar said: ‘There is nothing new in it for me, my name has been going around for a long time.’
Van Der Sar also revealed that Manchester United and Ajax are the only clubs he can work for.
Asked about his future, he said: ‘You should have a feeling with the club. I can do everything Ronald de Boer is doing, he works here at Ajax and also for you ESPN. He has more freedom and that’s a good life.
‘The pressure is different here and I can’t work at a club I don’t have a passion for. It can only be Ajax or United.
‘I won’t work for any other club. I am very happy with the development here at Ajax over the last few years.
We have to work very hard, we ain’t like some clubs with rich owners and the government does not help us.’
