Manchester United Goalkeeper Dean Henderson has now withdrawn from England’s Euro 2020 Squad today, MySportDab reports.
Aaron Ramsdale has been called up to replace Henderson in the England Squad.
Henderson is now the second player to get injured since Gareth Southgate announced his 33-man squad for the Euro 2020 tournament.
Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold was the first player to pull out only a few days before the tournament.
Under UEFA rules, squads can replace goalkeepers on medical grounds at any stage of the tournament.
Henderson’s replacement Ramsdale was initially included in Southgate’s 33-man squad but lost his place to Henderson, Jordan Pickford and Sam Johnstone in the final 26-man squad.
Henderson missed two training sessions as England prepared for their second Group D match against Scotland on Friday.
The English FA announced Henderson’s exit from the squad with a statement: ‘Aaron Ramsdale has now come in to replace Goalkeeper Dean Henderson in England’s Euro 2020 squad.
‘Henderson has withdrawn with a hip issue that has limited his ability in training throughout the tournament.
‘He will now return to Manchester United for further assessment ahead of the 2021-22 season.’
Aaron Ramsdale played for England at the UEFA U21 Euro in Slovenia in March.
The Sheffield United player will now follow standard Covid-19 testing protocol before joining the squad in camp.
Ramsdale, 23, is yet to play a competitive match for England at senior level and will now join Jordan Pickford and Sam Johnstone as the goalkeepers available for England.
