Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has won the club’s May Goal of the Month award for the 2020/21 season, MySportDab reports.
Cavani’s stunning goal against Fulham from a bit after the centre circle in May has won the award.
Cavani surprised 10,000 Manchester United fans in attendance at Old Trafford 15 minutes into the match against Fulham.
The Uruguay man went behind Fulham’s defence and lifted the ball over goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, into the net.
At 35.2 metres, it was the longest-range goal scored this season in the Premier League.
Cavani’s magical moment has gone on to win him an award.
His goal was voted the best goal scored in the Premier league in May and is now in the running for the goal of the season award.
This is Cavani’s third goal of the month in the 2020-21 season for Manchester United.
Cavani also won the Manchester United May Player of the Month Award.
Only a few week back, Cavani signed a new one year contract to remain at Manchester United until the end of the 2021-22 season.
