England claimed a narrow 1-0 win against Croatia in their European Championship opening game which Raheem Sterling scored, MySportDab Reports.
First Half Report
Both teams were good in the first half of the encounter which they both created opportunities but in all they couldn’t make it count on many occasions.
England had their opponent tiptoed as Phil Foden almost scored an early goal which was denied by the woodwork who saved their opposition.
Croatia had little or more to do as they were mostly at the back ensuring they don’t concede any goal with all the attacks being thrown at them by their opponent.
Nothing could separate the two teams who had so much to do going forward as they continued to create more opportunities which they couldn’t score.
The first half finally came to an end with England 0-0 Croatia as they both headed for the break with a goalless scoreline.
Second Half Report
Nothing to separate them as the second half resumed with some promising display in the first few minutes.
Croatia continued to push back hitting at their opponent which saw possession shifted a little bit as the game became balanced.
England finally broke the deadlock 57th minutes as Kevin Phillips assisted Raheem Sterling to finish off making it 1-0 for the three lions.
The match carried on with both sides going after each other with attack for the attack as Phil Foden was taken off.
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford was brought into the pitch of play to replace the Manchester City man.
The encounter pace slowed down a bit as they entered into the last few minutes and it ended with England 1-0 Croatia.
