FT: Netherlands 3-2 Ukraine, Wijnaldum And Weghorst STRIKES! (Match Report And Highlight)

Gini Wijnaldum alongside Weghorst and Dumfries all scored as the Netherlands beat Ukraine 3-2 in their Euros2020 opening match, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

It wasn’t a good first half encounter in which both sides couldn’t find a breakthrough despite all the amount of opportunities created.

Ukraine was up to the task against their opponent who was dogged in all their doings but it wasn’t too much for the Ukrainians to deal with as the match carried on.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands were comfortable with the ball in their control as they bossed the half making sure they create chances which were all wasteful at the end.

More coming in the last few minutes which wasn’t too impressive from the two sides who still couldn’t make anything happen going forward.

The first half ended with the Netherlands 0-0 Ukraine as they both headed for the break without anything to show for their efforts.

Second Half Report

The flood gate opened in the second half as the goals kept flying from both teams who made sure they made something happen as Gini Wijnaldum scored the lead to make it 1-0 in the 52nd minute.

Wout Weghorst scored another in the 59th minutes to make it 2-0 for the Netherlands who were on fire in the early stages of the second half.

Ukraine finally takes the game back by making sure they pulled one goal back in the 75th minute through an amazing goal from Yarmolenko who made it 2-1.

They immediately opened on another attack which saw the Ukrainians pulling back level 2-2 in the 79th minute thanks to a goal from Roman Yaremchuk who finished off neatly.

Denzel Dumfries 85th minutes goal ensured things turned back to the way it was with the home side taking back the lead 3-2 after another outstanding goal.

The match finally came to an end with the Netherlands 3-2 Ukraine as they claimed a narrow victory after an entertaining encounter.
