Belgium Striker Romelu Lukaku dedicated his opening goal for Belgium in the Euro 2020 match against Russia to his Inter Milan teammate Christian Eriksen, MySportDab reports.
Eriksen collapsed during his Denmark’s match yesterday evening and was given CPR on the pitch by medical starts.
The Denmark midfielder is now conscious and receiving treatment in the hospital.
After Lukaku scored his goal for Belgium Vs Russia, he said to the camera, ‘Chris, Chris I love you!’
Belgium’s match against Russia kicked off as planned despite the Eriksen incident, which shocked the football world.
In an official statement, the Danish football association confirmed that Eriksen is now conscious and undergoing tests at the hospital.
‘Christian Eriksen is AWAKE and taking medical examinations at Rigshospitalet.’
Denmark’s match with Finland continued after both sets of players had left the pitch due to the Eriksen incident.
However, when the positive news about Eriksen’s condition was confirmed, both country players decided to resume the match and Finland won the match 1-0.
Lukaku and Eriksen are team-mates at Inter and helped thir Club win their first Serie A title in over 10 years last season.
Eriksen appeared likely to leave Inter Milan in January after failing to settle down at the club.
Belgium, Denmark, Russia, and Finland are all in Euro 2020 Group B.
