Manchester United have a tough task in keeping some top players like Jesse Lingard at the club with their contract due to expire, MySportDab reports.
Lingard is now going into the final year of his Manchester United contract.
During the second half of the 2020-21 season, Lingard impressed everyone in the Premier League during his four-month loan at West Ham.
At West Ham, Lingard scored nine goals in 16 games.
At least three Premier League clubs have shown interest in signing Lingard from Manchester United on a permanent deal.
Lingard only played three matches for Manchester United last season before his loan to West Ham.
According to Manchester Evening News, Jesse Lingard will only hold talks with Manchester United and make a final decision about his future next month before pre-season.
Manchester United are ready to sell Lingard for the right fee if he refuses to sign a new contract next month.
Lingard got included in only nine of United’s last 33 Premier League matches matchday squad.
Despite sending Lingard out on loan, United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a good relationship with the academy graduate.
Lingard joined the Manchester United academy at seven years old and some top people at the club don’t mind selling him to raise funds this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain are said to have an interest in Lingard and they previously signed United midfielder Ander Herrera in 2019 on a free transfer.
Lingard was recalled by England for their World Cup qualifiers in March but failed to make the squad for the Euro 2020 tournament.
Speaking about being cut from the England Euro 2020 Squad, Lingard said:
“When it comes to representing my country I’ll never stop smiling.
“I am supporting them all summer! Bring it home boys! Good luck to the lads.”
Manchester United are interested in Lingard’s West Ham teammate Declan Rice but a player-plus-swap is very unlikely.
