Jadon Sancho did not even make the bench for England’s opening Euro 2020 match against Croatia, MySportDab reports.
No Manchester United player was also included in the starting line-up.
Sancho, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United was surprisingly not selected by Coach Gareth Southgate.
United players such as Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, Dean Henderson and Harry Maguire did not make it into Gareth Southgate’s Starting 11 to face Croatia at Wembley.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford came off the bench in the 1-0 win.
Maguire remains ruled out due to his ankle injury, with Southgate only allowed to select a squad of 23 from his 26-man team.
Chelsea left back Ben Chilwell, Jadon Sancho and Maguire did not make the bench.
Rashford, Henderson and Shaw were on the bench, with Kieran Trippier started at left-back.
The news of Sancho’s omission from the squad was a surprise for everyone because the Borussia Dortmund man is not injured.
Coach Gareth Southgate did not select him after his poor performance in the warm-up friendlies.
The England Coach is obliged to select at least two goalkeepers on the bench for any Euro 2020 match.
Aston Villa Star Jack Grealish is another player that was also on the bench.
Before the Croatia match, Southgate said: “That was out Starting XI in our matches in March and we needed some continuity from those matches.
“The squad have a fantastic understanding and depth. We know Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish want starting positions, but this is going to be a tournament where substitutes are more crucial for us.”
