Manchester United New signing Jadon Sancho missed his penalty for England in the Euro 2020 shooutout against Italy and has now been criticised by fans, MySportDab reports.
Manchester United star Rashford first failed to score by firing his ball on to the goalkeeper post.
Jadon Sancho played the next penalty and also failed to convert for England from the spot.
England Coach Gareth Southgate has revealed how he picked the five players that played in the penalty spot.
Captain Harry Kane and defender Harry Maguire both scored to give England the lead early on after 30 minutes minutes of extra time.
However, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka failed to score as Italy finished the match with a 4-2 penalty win.
Asked what he said to his England players after the penalty shooutout, Coach Gareth Southgate said: “We are all together and worked hard with, and they’ve given the country great memories.
“It was an extremely difficult one for all of us and that disappointment in understandable because the opportunities to win trophies like this are rare in your life.”
Former Manchester United Coach Jose Mourinho has also blasted Gareth Southgate for making Rashford and Sancho play the penalties against Italy.
Mourinho said: ‘To be sincere, it’s hard for Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to come and play a penalty after barely playing.
‘But puting the destiny of a country on Saka’s shoulders is far too much.
‘We can talk about the days that they were good at taking penalties, but the problem with penalties is it is different to take one in training and in a match.’
