Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio scored as Spain beat Japan 1-2 in the Olympic Games semis to set up a final against Brazil, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
An amazing first half encounter which saw both Nations doing well to represent their Country at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
The host Nation had things going at the early stages of the game which saw them creating some few opportunities which didn’t result in anything good.
Spain gained control of the game as they caused some much trouble for the host Nation who couldn’t contain them but did managed to keep their backline solid.
Nothing to separate the two teams as they entered into the last few minutes of the first half which saw more opportunities coming.
The first half ended with Japan 0-0 Spain as they both headed for the break without anything separating them in the semi final encounter.
Second Half Report
It was more the same in the second half than it was in the first 45 minutes which we didn’t see any goal coming from either of the sides.
Spain continued to push forward with their solid attacking firepower up front, but yet nothing could come out as their opponent ensured their defensive display was top notch.
It was all good without a goal as Japan also did caused some problems of their own against their opponent who had more of the opportunities to score.
The second half carried on with anything coming as it finished with Japan 0-0 Spain with them heading for extra time after an amazing 90 minutes of football.
Extra Time Report
More coming from the two countries in the early stages of extra time which saw them continue creating more opportunities going forward.
The game opened up a bit as they continue to push harder hoping they could get a breakthrough which saw Japan and Spain doing everything they could.
Finally, Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio broke the deadlock in the 115th minutes after teaming up with Mikel Oyarzabal to score a stunner which gave his Country a 0-1 lead.
Nothing could be done as time ran down and the match ended with Japan 0-1 Spain as the Spanish will be going up against Brazil in the final of the Olympic Games.
