Both Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota scored as Liverpool claimed their second win of the season by beating Burnley 2-0 to climb top of the Premier League table, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A beautiful first half encounter provided good quality of football from the Reds who dominated the entire 45 minutes as they scored to also make up for their efforts.
It was Burnley side who had all the work to do at their defense which was flooded with so many Redshirts hovering around with wave after waves of attacks which they dealt with.
Liverpool didn’t wait long to make it count as the pressure was too much before Diogo Jota made it 1-0 in the 18th minute with the assistance coming from Konstantinos Tsimikas.
The game carried on with more coming from the Reds who made sure the opportunities kept on coming as Mohamed Salah scored in the 27th minute but the goal was ruled out for offside by VAR.
It ended in the first half of the encounter with Liverpool 1-0 Burnley as they both headed for the break which saw Jurgen Klopp’s side taking a slender advantage against their opponent.
Second Half Report
The second half wasn’t that bad with the visitors putting up a very good fight which saw them making things a bit balanced between the two teams.
Liverpool continued to dominate things with more of the ball possession going their way as well as opportunities which they failed to utilize very well.
The Burnley side did everything possible to get themselves back in the game, but every effort they could get wasn’t good to them as they couldn’t find a way to break their opponent.
Sadio Mane soon extended the lead to 2-0 with a clinical finish in the 69th minute of the game after an amazing play saw Trent Alexander Arnold providing the assistance.
It was a cold game after the second goal with both sides unable to make anything happen as it ended with Liverpool 2-0 Burnley, which saw the Reds taking all three points.
