Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has confirmed his transfer plans for this summer, MySportDab reports.

Lingard wants to stay and fight for a spot in the first team, but he could still be sold by Manchester United.

The 28-year-old has revealed that his loan at West Ham was like a ‘refresh button’ for him to restart his career.

Lingard is now back at Manchester United ahead of the 2021-22 Premier League season.

Lingard joined West Ham on loan in January after becoming an invisible player at Old Trafford, and the change of club helped him to recapture his best form.

He scored score nine goals in 16 match to help West Ham finish sixth in the Premier League and qualify for the Europa League.

Lingard’s form at West Ham has earned his a not too safe spot in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans ahead of the new season.

Speaking about his West Ham loan, Lingard told MUTV: ‘It was fantastic and felt like a refresh button.

‘I was determined to do well from the beginning and I was always ready to play.

‘I played every match when i joined West Ham and when you play regularly like that, you get some good confidence.

‘The end result was the goals and assists. West Ham were perfect with me, everyone at the club. They helped me get to reach here now and also my hard work played a crucial role.’

Lingard’s return to form at West Ham earned him a call-up to the England national team.

However, he was left out of England’s final Euro 2020 squad.

About being called up to the England squad Lingard said: ‘At the time, my main goal was to be part of the March internationals and try hard to be productive in every match.

‘The consistency is very important. When you play regular football, you get the chance to keep scoring, or try and affect the game in different ways.’

Lingard has played for Manchester United in their pre-season matches so far, which means he could play more regularly next season.

However, he must fight off players like Bruno Fernandes, Van De Beek, Matic, Fred, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, and Juan Mata for a spot in United’s midfield.
