Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal as Argentina claimed a narrow 1-0 victory against Peru in their FIFA World Cup qualifications match, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half of the encounter was evenly balanced and match between the two sides which a moment of brilliance separated them both.
Peru were good at keeping it clean at the back which saw them ensuring nothing went past them as the pressure was all on their defender who did perfectly in the early stages.
Argentina made sure their dominance in the match remained as things progressed with them doing everything to make sure they get something out of the game which continued to prove difficult.
The goal still didn’t come for them as they approached 40 minutes mark which saw the home side doing all the pressing and going forward which still didn’t result in anything good.
Lautaro Martinez finally made it count in the 43rd minute of the first half which saw the Inter Milan forward converting from a lovely setup from Nahuel Molina to make the scoreline 1-0.
The first half of the encounter ended with Argentina taking a 1-0 lead into the break against Peru who did everything in their power to remain in the game after 45 minutes.
Second Half Report
The second half wasn’t a good on in terms of goals scored which didn’t see much coming out of the 45 minutes which could have gone either way.
Argentina were okay pushing things around as they already have all the advantages which gave them hopes as the encounter carried on in the early minutes.
Nothing could be done by Peru who did whatever it required of them to get the equalizer but all their attempts was easily dealt with by the Argentines.
Nothing else coming with the match progressing into the final minutes of play in the second half of the encounter as Emiliano Martinez saved a penalty.
The match ended with Argentina 1-0 Peru which saw the home side getting a much needed three points to carry on with their World Cup qualifiers for Qatar 2022.
