A late drama saw Lukaku goal ruled out by VAR as Theo Hernandez scored winner as France came from behind to beat Belgium 2-3 and book Nation League final ticket, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The Red Devils had total control of the first half which saw them scoring goals as they controlled things until the end of 45 minutes.
Both teams had good defending and attacking as the game failed to provide any talking points in the early stages which were evenly balanced.
The match progressed with Belgium taking the lead in the 37th minute of the game through an outstanding finish from Yannick Carrasco who scored a stunner to make it 1-0 with assist from De Bruyne.
France couldn’t hold off their opponent as Romelu Lukaku drifted past a defender and smashed one past the goalkeeper in the 40th minute to make the scoreline 2-0 as it progressed.
Nothing else as things ended in the first half with Belgium taking all the 2-0 advantage into the break against France who was unable to make anything happen for themselves.
Second Half Report
The second half saw a different side in the French players coming into the 2nd 45 minutes with so much firepower which they made things happen.
The few minutes of play as the second half resumed was all about the visitors doing everything possible to make a comeback happen as it progressed.
France finally pulled one back in the 62nd minute of the second half which saw Karim Benzema scoring to make it 2-1 after teaming up with Kylian Mbappe.
Things carried on with Belgium looking like they could make something happen for themselves as the game failed to work in their favor.
Kylian Mbappe finally made it 2-2 in the 69th minute of the game after converting from the penalty spot which came as a result of an error.
It wasn’t looking good but still Romelu Lukaku scored another goal in the 87th minute which was ruled out by VAR after the finishing was review.
The away side was able to score a late goal in the 91st minutes through Theo Hernandez which made the scoreline 2-3 as they played out a long added time.
The referee ended the match with France sealing a dramatic comeback to beat Belgium 2-3 to setup a date against Spain in the Nations League final match.
