Manchester United are now set to offer captain Harry Maguire a massive new contract, MySportDab reports.
According to The Sun, United want to show Maguire his level of importance as a key player for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Maguire is now earning £189,000-a-week from his current contract which expires in 2025.
As the club captain, United are ready to offer Maguire wages of £300,000-a-week in the new contract.
United want to tie down Maguire to a new five-year contract and have already started negotiations.
Maguire has played 114 matches for Manchester United since he joined for £80m from Leicester in 2019.
He is still the world’s most expensive defender since his 2019 transfer.
Maguire is also experienced at international level having playing 39 matches for England.
He is currently unavailable due to a calf injury for both club and country.
The Englishman is determined to produce an effective long-term partnership with Raphael Varane in defence for United.
United are currently fourth in the Premier League and face Leicester away next.
