Borussia Dortmund CEO has come out to make some shocking statement on why Erling Halaand didn’t move to Man United, MySportDab reports.
The Norwegian has been remarkable since making the move to Borussia Dortmund where he has steadily established himself.
Erling Haaland was supposed to join Manchester United but he had to make a move to Germany instead despite the Red Devils making a good offer for him.
The move has been a good one for the 20-year-old who is now the hottest striker in World football despite his age.
Top clubs in Europe are already getting set to make their bid when the January window opens as the striker is open to making a move elsewhere.
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has spoken about signing Erling Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg.
He also went on saying how they managed to beat Manchester United to his signature despite them making a good offer.
Watzke Told Sport1:
“The offer from Manchester United was better. However Mino Raiola realised that Erling is better off with us.
“People notice that gifted people make a breakthrough with us the quickest.
“That is a resounding argument for the players, the parents of the players and the advisors.
“We have no inhibitions about letting 17-year-olds play.”
Manchester United seems to be regretting letting the deal slip off their hands as they have to now pay triple of his old value for them to sign him.
They are not the only side interested in the move as the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid all strongly linked with a move.
He will be open to leaving Borussia Dortmund when the current season comes to an end after almost making a move to Chelsea this summer.
His value will be worth over €80 million during the next summer window which the clause in his contract would have changed forcing his €150 million value to come down a bit.
