Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now fired back at Critics for not starting Cristiano Ronaldo Vs Everton, MySportDab reports.
Solskjaer has said that he will be the one to decide when Ronaldo plays for Manchester United.
Solskjaer was heavily criticised for not playing Ronaldo from the start as United played out a 1-1 draw against Everton at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo stormed off at the end of the match, and former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said that a manager should always play his best team.
In the Champions league, he was again criticised for taking off Ronaldo when United suffered a loss to Young Boys.
Now, the United Coach has defended his decisions.
He said: ‘I’m the manager. I am in charge of the players at the club.
‘It’s nice to know he can come up for us on the pitch. The more he plays on the pitch the better.
‘He’s a fantastic player, a great finisher, goal scorer, and professional. It’s hard to not start him and I think everyone absolutely agrees.
‘But, how do you play six games in six days with the same XI every time, it’s iconic.
‘That’s where rotation comes in, we need everyone firing by April and May. We got to May in the final part of last season and we were poor.’
However, Solskjaer also revealed that Harry Maguire returned to training with his team-mates on Friday morning for the first time.
But, Maguire is not yet confirmed to play against his former club Leicester on Saturday.
Solskjaer also ruled out playing Edinson Cavani and Fred, after their involvement in Brazil’s 4-1 win against Uruguay.
‘Harry returned to training this morning, and that’s the first time for him in some time,’ said Solskjaer.
‘Amad Diallo also made his first return on the grass since his injury.
‘International breaks are the times to just wait and hope for the best, because Raphael has now picked up an injury.
‘But, Victor and Eric played well during the international break and that’s some good news.
‘Fred and Edinson played a full match this morning. We can’t count on them so they can rest and recover. They played well and did not get injured.
‘Hopefully they can play for us in midweek in the Champions League.’
United’s visit to Leicester starts a run of six key matches, facing the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City in the Premier League.
