The 25-year-old has been exceptional since Thomas Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard which saw him getting more playing time.

The defender has helped Chelsea a lot from their last season Champions League dominance till date which they currently top the Premier League table.

Talks a out signing a new deal was almost completed the last time until no news was heard about them reaching an agreement.

Chelsea have, according to reports reaching us from Football Insider, made a breakthrough in contract talks with Andreas Christensen.

The Danish defender is now expected to sign fresh terms at Stamford Bridge which will chase away suitors looking to lure him away from the Premier League side.

Signing a new deal will allow the Blues to keep him from dropping into a free agent pool next summer with clubs already lining up to capture him.

His time with Chelsea for the past three season has been good after he was given the opportunity of remaining with the club after series of loan moves.

Andreas Christensen has grown into becoming one of the best defenders in World football which has seen interests pouring in from top clubs.

The player could speak with other clubs when the January window opens as things are yet to be concluded with Chelsea who want to keep him.

Andreas Christensen isn’t the only player likely to drop into free agent as the like of Antonio Rudiger also in the same position when the season comes to an end.
