EPL Clubs Ready To Pay Jules Kounde £69m Release Clause (Details)

Sevilla are scared that Manchester United could try to sign Defender Jules Kounde in January by paying his release clause, MySportDab reports.

Last summer, Chelsea rejected a £42.5m offer from Chelsea for Kounde and they asked Chelsea to pay his full £69m release clause.

However, Chelsea Coach Thomas Tuchel is still interested in the centre-back.

Sevilla are now worried Kounde could leave in the upcoming transfer window but to Manchester United and not Chelsea.

According to Spanish Newspaper AS, Manchester United could sign Kounde in January to solve their defensive problems so far this season.

Summer signing Raphael Varane’s United career so far has been affected by injury, and Captain Harry Maguire is struggling this season.

The Red Devils are now monitoring the defender and can give in to Sevilla’s demands.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are keen to improve their defence by bringing in Kounde.

But, The Blues now risk losing players like Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on a free transfer at the end of the season unless they sign new contracts.

In La Liga, Sevilla have dreams of a potential title challenge and losing Kounde in January would affect their plans badly.

Sevilla have lost only once in La Liga so far this season and have the best defensive record, conceding only seven goals.

They are just one point behind league leaders Real Sociedad.

Kounde has been key to their improved defensive record, with six clean sheets in the 10 matches he has played in so far this season.
