Manchester United is open to extend David de Gea’s contract as they look to keep him beyond his current deal, MySportDab reports.

The goalkeeper has managed to turn his career around following Dean Henderson making a return to the club.

David de Gea is set for an extension with Manchester United as they are looking to give him more time at Old Trafford.

This could mean another problem for Dean Henderson who has been frustrated by not getting much playing time due to the club favoring the Spaniard over him.

A new deal could see him remain as the number two choice without getting much game time which was promised to him by the club.

Spanish shot-stopper in line for a new contract at Old Trafford which will tie him down with them much longer than expected.

The goalkeeper was already on his way out early this season after his bad performance which kept people questioning his ability to be Man United number one.

Although, Manchester United is set to open talks with David De Gea over a contract extension, according to reports coming from Fichajes.

The Spaniard’s current deal is due to expire in less than two years, and the Red Devils are eager to tie him down to fresh terms.

Manchester United wants to avoid a repeat of Paul Pogba’s current situation as they risk losing the Frenchman on the free transfer ahead of the expiration of his deal next summer.

This might also see the Old Trafford club lose Dean Henderson who has proved to be a good goalkeeper and won’t be looking to remain with the club if he won’t play much.

The England International was promised regular playing time after his loan with Sheffield United which saw him extending his contract despite an approach from Chelsea who later signed Mendy from Rennes.
