Manchester United have now confirmed how long defender Raphael Varane will be out unavailable, MySportDab reports.
Varane will miss the Manchester derby this weekend and is now out for a month.
Varane suffered another injury in United’s 2-2 draw against Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The former Real Madrid defender arrived back in Manchester for scans on Wednesday.
He will now miss matches against Manchester City, Watford, Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal.
That is now a big problem for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer given that United have conceded 11 goals in matches games without Varane.
A statement on the Manchester United website read: “We can confirm that Raphael has an hamstring injury, which will now keep him out for almost a month.
“We wish Raphael all the best as he works on his recovery.”
Solskjaer could also missed Victor Lindelof against City due to injury after he missed the Atalanta match.
Now, United are unlikely to play with a back three against Manchester City this weekend.
Coach Solskjaer could have to revert back to 4-2-3-1 formation although Shaw can play in a 3-man defence alongside Maguire, and Bailly.
