Norwich City have a shortlist of three names and are set to begin talks so as to find replacement for Daniel Farke, who was sacked on Saturday.
The three names on the shortlist are Dean Smith, Frank Lampard and Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Although Norwich won the match against Brentford on Saturday, Farke was still axed as the club sits at the bottom of the Premier League with only 5 points as it was reported that his fate has been sealed before kick-off.
They are now set to proceed talks with ex-Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard later this week while Dean Smith is also deemed available, following his sack on Sunday by Aston Villa after a fifth straight defeat against Southampton on Friday.
Smith is regarded as one with all the required experience and know-how to be successful at Carrow Road, having guided Villa to a Premier League promotion in 2019 and kept them there for two seasons.
Hasenhuttl is considered a long shot currently as he is employed by Southampton, and has also been linked with the vacant Villa job. Norwich bosses admire him hugely but accept it would be difficult to lure him away.
Norwich Sporting director, Stuart Webber is leading the search for Farke’s replacement as they are determined to remain in the Premier League this time.
The November international break will a crucial time for the clubs to make changes, with Villa also looking for a new boss and eyeing Rangers boss Steven Gerrard and Belgium coach, Roberto Martinez.
