Football Agent Mino Raiola has now revealed that his client Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt will consider leaving Juventus, MySportDab reports.
Juventus signed De Ligt as a teenager for £63m in 2019 after he led Ajax to the Champions League semi-finals in the 2018-19 season.
At Juventus, he has won the Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
However, Juve are currently down in seventh place on the league table, 12 points behind league leaders Inter Milan.
With Juventus behind the Italian league title race, Raiola has confirmed that his client wants to try something new.
‘He is ready for a new step. De Ligt agrees on that too,’ Raiola said to Dutch newspaper NRC.
This is good news for targets Chelsea, who are interested in the 22-year-old.
Chelsea have four defenders running out of contract next year and must surely sign replacement.
Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen have not yet signed a new contract extension with the club.
So, the Blues will have to bring in new defenders next summer, and de Ligt could be the player they sign.
De Ligt has two-and-a-half years left on his current Juventus contract.
So, Chelsea may have to pay a massive fee to sign the centre back.
