Erling Haaland scored brace but it wasn’t enough as Borussia Dortmund crash out of Champions League despite 5-0 win against Besiktas, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A good start to the first half from Borussia Dortmund who had everything under control going forward and getting all the goals they needed.
Besiktas had a good early first half which saw them holding off their opponent from scoring as they pressure was so much all over their defense.
Donyell Malen opened the goal scoring in the 29th minute of the game after an amazing teamwork with Jude Bellingham to make the scoreline 1-0.
Things didn’t look a bit good for the Turkish club who couldn’t control their fate as more pressure poured on them until Welinton was shown a red card in the 43rd minute.
Marco Reus scored in the 45th minute plus additional time to make the scoreline 2-0 thanks to a penalty which was awarded to the home side.
The first half ended with Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Besiktas as they both headed inside for the break with advantage going all the way to the home side.
Second Half Report
The second half looked the same as more goals flooded in with BVB making sure it kept coming as they needed lots of it to make the next round.
Another goal from Marco Reus in the 53rd minutes made the scoreline 3-0 as the German International made no mistake in making it count for Borussia Dortmund.
Besiktas were poor in their defending as another goal this time from Erling Haaland who came off the bench to make it 4-0 in the 68th minute of the second half.
He doubled his tally in the 81st minute which made it his brace and scoreline 5-0 as the encounter progressed into the final few minutes left to be played.
The match ended with Borussia Dortmund 5-0 Besiktas, but it wasn’t enough as they crashed out of the Uefa Champions League but made it to Europa.
