Manchester United Coach Ralf Rangnick has now completed his first ever press conference today, MySportDab reports.
Rangnick revealed his plans to turn around Manchester United and make the team challenge for the Premier League title again.
The German has now taken over from Michael Carrick as interim manager following the 3-2 win against over Arsenal on Thursday night.
This morning, he faced the media as the Manchester United Coach for the first time.
In his half an hour press conference, Rangnick spoke about his desire to bring success to Old Trafford, and how he plans to adapt with Cristiano Ronaldo.
He did not rule out the possibility of becoming United’s permanent manager if he performs well from now until the end of the season.
The 63-year-old also revealed that former Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spent two hours talking with him about the club at the weekend.
He arrived on Friday morning, and thanked journalists for coming early, before answering questions on Manchester United.
Rangnick slammed United’s transfer policy and failure to stick to their DNA in his first press conference.
‘The club has failed with the signing of new players and plans to stick with the club’s DNA,’ he said.
‘On the long run, me and board members will have the same opinion. It’s crucial to reduce the changes changes in management.’
When asked about his ambitions for the next six months as manager, he said: ‘In the right season, we will always finish in the top four but also fighting for titles.
‘We have done well in the Champions League and can get even further in that competition. The DNA of the club is clear.
‘I have watched all of United’s most recent matches, even before talks with the club.
‘I’m very well updated on what’s happening here at the club and in the Premier League. It’s clear that we have talented players.
‘The main target for me is to bring good balance into the squad. Yesterday, we conceded two goals and had to score three to win the match.
‘We’re conceding too many goals. My approach is to help the team and get more balance.
‘The squad is good enough to compete in the top. The top three are tough with great coaches. This is something that takes time to develop.
‘When Jurgen arrived at Liverpool, the squad he inherited was not better than what I have now at Manchester United.’
Speaking about Cristiano Ronaldo, Rangnick admitted that he would adapt his playing style to work for eveyone.
‘You must adapt your style to fit the players you have,’ he said.
‘He is a top professional. At his age, I have never seen a player still that physically fit.
‘We want to develop the whole team, and not just Cristiano. We are a team that plays in the most competitive league in the world.’
Ralf Rangnick is taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the last Manchester United manager at Old Trafford.
