FT: Barca 2-3 Madrid| Los Blancos Progress Into The Final (HIGHLIGHTS)

Real Madrid knocked Barcelona out of the Super Copa Espana thanks to goals from Benzema and Vinicius plus an extra time winner from Valverde which sees them advance into the final.

First Half Report

The first half of the encounter between both teams was interesting as they both got forward on different occasions.

Barcelona had their new signing Ferran Torres making his debut in the encounter which saw him started off well until he was yellow carded in the 23 minutes.

Real Madrid scored the opening goal in the 25th minute of the match after teaming up with Karim Benzema who provided the assistance that saw Vinicius Junior making the scoreline 0-1.

Things continue shaping up between both teams who carried on with the encounter creating numerous amount of opportunities but nothing changed.

Luuk de Jong leveled things for Barca in the 41st minute after an amazing teamwork effort saw the Netherlands international making it 1-1.

Second Half Report

The second half was similar to how things played out in the first half which saw them both carrying on pushing to make thing happen.

Barcelona where the side pushing so hard to make things happen and take the lead which wasn’t that easy coming through for them as it progressed.

Karim Benzema scored in the 72nd minute of the match giving his side a 1-2 lead before substitute Ansu Fati put Barca back on level with a fine header in the 79th minute.

None could get the winning goal in the normal time and the match proceeded to extra time.

Extra Time Report

Real Madrid started on the right foot and looked the threat until Federico Valverde puts them ahead in the 97th minute, courtesy of a fine teamwork effort.

Barca tried to no avail to get back an equalizer and Real Madrid could have doubled their lead later in the second half of the extra time but Rodrygo wasted the chance as he put it wide.

Madrid held on in the later part of the game as Courtios made fine saves and the defense responded well to make sure the match ended 2-3. Madrid will now face the winner of Atletico Madrid vs Atletico Bilbao in the final.
