Manchester United Coach Ralf Rangnick has now reacted to summer signing Jadon Sancho’s poor form this season, MySportDab reports.
Sancho has been struggling since his £73m transfer from Borussia Dortmund to the Premier League.
Interim manager Ralf Rangnick spoke to Sancho after he was left on the bench for the match at Aston Villa last week.
Sancho has produced only two goals and no assists in 23 matches for Manchester United this season.
Coach Rangnick believes it is due to pressure and level of expectation for such a big transfer fee.
‘This is a different league and he is playing for one of the best clubs in the world. It can affect everything up here in his head,’ said Rangnick.
‘It’s different if you join as a talented boy from Borussia Dortmund.
‘The level of expectation at Dortmund can’t be compared to situation like Manchester United for a high transfer fee with a high level of intensity.
‘Everyone expected him to become one of the best players in the team. This is a more challenging situation than at Borussia Dortmund.
‘This is all part of the steps that he has to make to become a top player over the next ten years.
‘We can always give him a helping hand and try to accompany him and give him all the assistance that he needs. .
‘Whenever I watch him in training, he’s one of the best players. But it’s not about training at the highest possible level.
‘I told him a few days back: confirm the performances you show in training when on the pitch.
‘He has the ability to do a lot. But now we have to develop him into a far more comfortable player that had the same kind of performances at Borussia Dortmund.’
