Luka Modric and Karim Benzema scored as Real Madrid win the Super Cup after beating Athletic Bilbao 2-0, MySportDab reports.

Competitive first half encounter between both teams in the Super Cup final which saw the Los Blancos getting things going.
Athletic Bilbao had a good start to the first half which saw them going toe to toe against their opponent who came in this encounter also with a mindset of winning.

It was looking evenly balanced until Luka Modric scored a goal in the 38th minute giving his side a 1-0 advantage after an amazing teamwork effort seeing Rodrygo provide the assistance which lead to the finishing.
Nothing happened as the first half carried on and ended with Real Madrid 1-0 Athletic Bilbao which saw them both heading inside for the break after an amazing 45 minutes with advantage to the home side.
Second Half Report
They both entered the second half looking to continue from where they stopped in the first 45 minutes with the home side taking the much needed advantage.
Real Madrid kept things going with their lead intact against their opponent who didn’t just seat back as so much effort was put in by them to try level things.
Karim Benzema scored from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute which increased the advantage against Athletic Bilbao to 2-0 which was a result of an error leading to the referee awarding a foul.
Eder Militao was shown a red card after a bad foul which saw the away side given a penalty which Raul Garcia threw away without hitting target for his side in the 89th minutes.
The match finally came to an end with Real Madrid 2-0 Athletic Bilbao as the Los Blancos lifts the Spanish Super Cup title after an impressive win.
