Sadio Mane scored as 9-man Cape Verde lost 2-0 to Senegal who move on to the next round in AFCON, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A good first-half from both Countries who had so much work to do going forward in attacking but still couldn’t make anything count despite it all.
Senegal started the game as the better side which saw them dominating things but they created few amount of opportunities which didn’t count for them as it carried on further.
Sadio Mane had an opportunity of handing his side the lead, but he wasn’t able to make it count from a good strike which didn’t hit the right targeted area against Cape Verde.
A red card was shown to Patrick Andrade in the 21st minute of the encounter which saw the away side for the match reduced to 10-man making things worst for them.
The first half carried on with nothing coming from both end except some wasted opportunities which failed to result into anything good as both defense were solid.
No goal as the first half ended with Senegal 0-0 Cape Verde as they both went inside for the break with a goalless scored after a hard fought 45 minutes at the AFCON.
Second Half Report
The second half resumed with both countries still finding a way to get the opening goal as some early opportunities were seen coming through without hitting target.
Cape Verde pushed harder as the match progressed with them hoping to get something that might see them close things up in their defense making the Senegalese hard to come back.
Things got worst for the away side as another foul on Senegal saw Vozinha sent off in the 57th minute leaving them with 9-man on the pitch.
Sadio Mane scored in the 63rd minute of the encounter giving his side a 1-0 lead after a good buildup from play saw the Liverpool man making it count with a stunner.
The match progressed into the final few stages with Bamba Dieng making it 2-0 in the 90th minute plus additional time.
The encounter carried on and came to an end with Senegal taking a 2-0 victory against Cape Verde after 90 minutes of football moving them into the next round.
