FT: Senegal 3-1 Equatorial Guinea, Lions Book Semi-Finals! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Senegal advance to the semifinals of the AFCON after beating Equatorial Guinea 3-1, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The first half between both teams had so much happening going forward and defending all through the 45 minute.

Equatorial Guinea had so much work to do in the early stages which they did well going forward ensuring nothing went wrong that could lead to them going down.

Senegal Equatorial Guinea

Senegal had to wait until the 28th minute before they scored the opening goal which came through from Famara Diedhiou who ensured his finishing was perfectly place to make it 1-0.

The first half of the match carried on with both teams doing so much but nothing could happen as the encounter progressed and ended with Senegal 1-0 Equatorial Guinea as they headed for the break.

Second Half Report

The second half was nothing less from the home side for the encounter who made sure they got the job done against their opponent.

Equatorial Guinea leveled things back in the 57th minute through a goal from Jannick Buyla Sam who ensured his side got things going in the second half as scoreline turned 1-1.

It pushed forward with Senegal fighting hard to retain their lead which finally happened in the 68th minute through an error which saw Cheikhou Kouyate making things 2-1 for his country.

Things came back to normal for the Senegalese who had one job to do in making sure things remain the same until the end of the game between them both.

Ismaila Sarr wrapped things off in the 79th minute after a good display saw him beating the goalkeeper to set things on 3-1 as it moved forward into the final stages.

The match ended with Senegal 3-1 Equatorial Guinea as the Lions moved into the next round of the AFCON tournament sending the away side back home.
