Manchester United Coach Ralf Rangnick has now confirmed the club’s January transfer plans, MySportDab reports.
Rangnick only wants to sign high-quality players for Manchester United if they do bring in anyone in the January transfer window.
The German manager used 23 senior players in his first two matches in charge.
However, United were still without Raphael Varane, Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba, and Anthony Martial due to injury.
The Red Devils failed to reduce their squad size in the summer.
But, Pogba, Cavani, Lingard, and Mata are all out of contract at the end of the current 2021-22 season.
Also, Martial’s agent confirmed that the Frenchman wants to leave this month.
United want to sign a midfielder this January, having missed out on some options in the summer.
“My decision on winter transfers is very clear,” Rangnick said.
“We will only bring in a player to improve the quality, to make the team get better, an high-quality player, no matter the position on the pitch.
“If it’s a midfielder or anyone else, it has to be a player that can really helps us improve. Also, it has to be a player that should we would want him in the summer, he would be available.
“So it is only when these two things come together we can work on a new addition.
“And the player must have the right mentality, not just quality.
“We also need to have the best possible mentality.
“They have to be mature and have a winning mentality. For me, the mentality is far more important than anything else in the world.”
