Ajax Coach Erik ten Hag has now spoken about his future at Ajax for the first time and the Man Utd rumours, MySportDab reports.

This comes after Ajax director of football, Marc Overmars left the club.

Marc had to resign after he was confirmed to have sent ‘inappropriate messages’ to female colleagues.

Overmars apologised for the actions, and left Ajax after almost ten years at the club.

Two months ago, he signed a contract extension with Ajax until 2026.

Overmars and Ten Hag were pretty close at Ajax and worked together very well.

His exit has started rumours that Ten Hag may consider leaving Ajax at the end of the season.

Ten Hag is one of the managers that could become the next Manchester United manager.

PSG Coach Mauricio Pochettino is also a frontrunner for the job.

Speaking about the exit Overmars, Ten Hag said:

“Marc Overmars and I were very close. But you start to think about it now… This is not about me in any way so we must process what happened.”

“I am currently looking at the consequences. I won’t talk about my future for now.”

On Overmars’ exit, Ten Hag added: “I’m fine, but it’s a difficult few days here.

“I was shocked when I heard about it. This is bad. Especially for the victims.

“Everyone has a different way of processing things.

“As a coach, you have to renew your energy, but the last few days have been very difficult.”

Ten Hag and Pochettino are considered the top choice for Manchester United as manager.

The Red Devils are confident they will announce their new manager before the end of the season.
