Manchester United Coach Ralf Rangnick has now confirmed his decision on who will be the captain, MySportDab reports.
Reports on Thursday suggested that Ronaldo and Maguire are in a dressing room power struggle on who should skipper the captain until the end of the season.
The Mirror claimed that Maguire is not ready to give up the handband to Ronaldo now.
However, on Friday Maguire denied such reports with an official statement on his social media page.

But, Speaking ahead of United’s EPL match against, Rangnick said: ‘To be clear, this is absolute nonsense. I have not spoken to anyone about changing the captain.
‘Harry and Cristiano are both aware of that, same with all the other players. This has never been an issue.
‘I will decide who is captain, so there is no reason for me to discuss this with any other person.
‘Harry will remain as our captain until the end of the season and that is all i have to say about this.’
Rangnick also said the dressing room is doing perfectly fine, unlike the claims recently.
He added: ‘I can tell you from my experience here so far that there were players unhappy before the January transfer window.
‘Players wanted more game time and squad was too big for that.
‘The atmosphere is better now compared to a couple of weeks back.’
