Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes is close to signing a new contract at the club, MySportDab reports.
The Portuguese will also be rewarded with a massive payrise by the Red Devils.
Fernandes is now one of United’s key players since he joined from Sporting Lisbon.
At Manchester United, he has scored 49 goals in 117 matches.
Thanks to his good performance, the Red Devils are now trying to down the attacking midfielder to a new contract.
Since Fernandes joined United, he still earns around £100,000-a-week.
But, According to Fabrizio Romano, Fernandes is close to signing a five-year contract extension until 2027.
He is expected to earn £12m per year from his new contract, a massive pay rise.
His current contract is expected to expire in 2015, and he is now likely to stay.
Manchester United want to use the 27-year-old as a ‘reference’ to other players ahead of next season.
Fernandes is yet to win trophies in England, with United losing in the Europa League final and semi-finals in different competitions.
Despite the poor performance, he is fully committed to the project.
This season has been difficult United’s main man and Fernandes had to be dropped from the first team.
