Ronaldo Vs Chelsea

According to reports in Italy, Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick wants to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

United are expected to enter the market for a new goalscorer during the summer transfer window, and the 23-year-old has been identified as a player of interest.

A cloud of uncertainty hangs over United’s squad as the club embarks on a new era under the next – as of yet unnamed – permanent manager.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford are struggling, while Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard are all facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford for various reasons.

Ronaldo is under contract until 2023, but Rangnick is growing impatient with the self-assured 37-year-old, who has only scored once in his last ten games.

And the German coach has identified Osimhen as a possible signing for United as they look to bolster their squad at the end of the season.

Rangnick wants to replace Ronaldo with Osimhen this summer, according to Italian journalist and Napoli expert Ciro Venerato, via Tutto Napoli.

Venerato claims that the Serie A club is willing to sell Osimhen in the upcoming transfer window and that their resolve has already been tested.

The Nigeria international, however, will not be cheap, with club chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis reportedly valuing him at £84 million (€100 million).

Since joining Napoli, Osinmhen has already scored 23 and assisted 3 in 36 appearances.

Napoli, on the other hand, are bracing for the loss of Osimhen and have already enquired about Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca in order to replace him.
