Liverpool played out a 3-3 draw against Benfica but advance to the semifinals 6-4 on aggregate, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Good 45 minutes of football coming from both teams who gave a good account of themselves going forward in attacking and defending.
The early stages of the encounter saw Liverpool doing well by dominating things as it was all about the pressing and pushing to get the opening goal of the match.
Benfica did well as the game carried on until they conceded the opening goal in the 21st minute through a stunner from defender Ibrahima Konate which made it 1-0.
The match continued with the Portuguese side pushing forward looking for the leveler which came in the 32ndminutes through Goncalo Ramos who leveled things 1-1.
The first half of the match ended with Liverpool 1-1 Benfica as they both headed inside for the break after 45 minutes played.
Second Half Report
More goals happened in the second half of the encounter which was well played by both teams going forward in attacking.
Liverpool reclaimed their lead in the 55th minute of the match which saw Roberto Firmino finishing off from an assist coming from Diogo Jota which made it 2-1.
Benfica was so poor in their dealings as the Brazilian netted another one in the 65th minute of the game to make it 3-1 going forward.
The away side scored another one back making the scoreline 3-2 in the 73rd minute of the match which was thanks to a lovely buildup from play resulting in that goal.
Darwin Nunez leveled things 3-3 from an outstanding finish in the 83rd minute which completed the come back for them as things continued well.
Unfortunately, nothing else could be done as the match ended with Liverpool 3-3 Benfica which saw the Premier League side making it to the next round 6-4 on aggregate.
