Atletico Madrid on the other hand was doing so much themselves ensuring their defending was on point as they also create a fair amount of opportunities going forward on goal.
The first half progressed further with nothing to sure for all their efforts as they approached the final 10 minutes of normal time to be played in the 45.
The 45 minutes finally came to an end with Man City 0-0 Atletico Madrid as they both headed inside for the break after both teams couldn’t make anything happen.
Second Half Report
The second half was a good one which started with opportunities coming from both ends in the early stages that were well dealt with.
Atletico Madrid remained on alert against a free-scoring side who were pressing them very hard as things carried on with so much to play for both teams.
Man City continue to dominate things hoping to score the opening goal which didn’t happen immediately for them as their opponent had other plans for them.
Kevin De Bruyne finally scored the goal in the 70th minute of the game after so much work put in from them which finally paid off with Phil Foden on the assist to make the scoreline 1-0.
That was the only goal as the match ended with Man City 1-0 Atletico Madrid as the Premier League side claimed the much-needed win at their home ground after 90 minutes.
